Career Criminal Exposes Chilling Details From The World's Worst Prisons

Jails are some of the most boring, yet terrifying places for people to be confined within — so we’ve heard. Inmates spend their days wiling away the hours until their eventual release. Or their death. Dark stuff. One person who's extremely familiar with prison life is David McMillian. He spent a majority of his life locked up in some of the world's most notorious jails, and now he's breaking his silence on salacious details from inside.

Life of Crime

Before embarking on his life of crime, David was born in London on April 9, 1956, but soon moved to Melbourne, Australia with his mom. He grew up attending Caulfield Grammar School, where his teachers noted his intelligence and ambition — two important qualities for a semi-successful criminal.

Drug Smuggling

Later, while working at a movie theater, David met safe crackers who’d pivoted from committing burglaries to selling drugs. David knew he could make much more money smuggling narcotics and decided to try this for himself. Of course, there could be consequences. David didn’t care. The payday was too tempting.

Stubborn and Adventurous

"I was a stubborn [fool] and wanted my own way in all things — and a life of adventure,” David (pictured here) said. “The drug world provided that opportunity." He wanted adventure and excitement, and he got it. Using fake bags, he brought plenty of hashish into Australia, and he was only getting started.

Chicken Bombs

In the '70s, David met, and then had a major falling out with, Lord Anthony Moynihan (pictured in the middle). Part of the British elite, Moynihan wanted David to place small bombs in chickens that were being used in a cockfighting ring in the Philippines. David could then set off the explosives, determining the winner. This led to David's downfall.
